Day 1 at Mission Point / Top 10 List
Day 2 at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island
Today we slept in and enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the Round Island Bar & Grill, which created a rustic, yet elegant, atmosphere for the beginning of our day.
Enjoying the Activities at Mission Point Resort
After breakfast we started a fun filled day of activities at Mission Point.
Mission Point Resort Offers…

- A kids club
- An arcade
- An observation tower
- Ghost tours
- Kayak rentals
- A pool and hot tubs
- Tennis
- Croquet
- Bocce ball
Out of all of these activities, we were able to squeeze the following into day 2 of our trip: the observation tower, bocce ball, biking, golfing, the arcade room, and the pool.
After our tour of the observation tower and a quick game of Bocce ball on the lawn, we headed out for your bike ride around the island.
Just a few minutes past the resort we were swallowed up by the natural beauty of the island. If you go to Mackinac Island, you must rent a bike (or bring your own) and leave the touristy downtown to experience the pure beauty of the island.
After our bike ride we had lunch in town and checked out all of the silly tourist shops.
Then we c-h-i-l-l-e-d out. Some of us napped, some swam, some golfed, some tried to fish, some went to the arcade, and some watch Nickelodeon. I snuck away and quietly sat in one of the Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. It was tranquility at its best.
By 7:30pm, we all met at Chianti, Mission Point’s premier lakeside restaurant.
Chianti offers classic Italian dishes, plus some inventive items such as osso buco ravioli with leak and wild mushroom fricassee. There were many options for my husband and I, but my boys did not want pasta. The staff went above and beyond and offered to walk over to another restaurant onsite to get pizza for my boys.
After such a long day, and having to hungry kids at the table, I was beyond grateful for their hospitality.
We were too tired to walk into town for ice cream, so we had a relaxing after dinner treat on property at Lakeside Marketplace. Like all of their restaurants, it had amazing views of the lake plus…it also had a good variety of Mackinac Island ice cream.
And just like the night before, we were all asleep by 10pm.
